Christening & Memorial Services

Unity of Massillon offers a variety of spiritual, non-denominational services to our community.  Along with weddings these include:

Christening

Unity believes that we are created not in “original sin” but as a pure unstained “original blessing” in the image of God. Our Christening service is an affirmation of the divinity of the child. Children come to us endowed with infinite possibilities of good. We do not use water to cleanse away sin, but flowers or petals symbolizing the innate beauty of the soul and to call forth its expression.

Christenings may be held as part of our regular Sunday services, or in a private service held either at the church or in your home.

Memorial Services

We can provide access to a Minister to help you deal with the loss of a loved one and to help plan a memorial service or graveside service, including readings or other special memorials. We also have a pianist and soloist who can be of service.
